Well, I think this may have been the longest stint without an update for some time now folks, so I apologise for my elusiveness. I shall try and make this update as fun packed and informative as I can to make up for it.
Where to start then? Where indeed… Where?
Well, it’s now less than a week before Charlie and I head out to Tuscany to soak up some sun, swim, drink, frolick and watch a stage where John Mayer might have been; very exciting. Charlie and I decorated the little flat which we are currently residing. It’s now a lovely shade of “warm beige” and there are new shelves, stencilled borders and painted door frames which are all very plush. I also retrieved my leather beanbag from my old flat in Shoreditch and the old faithful is now back with its rightful owner and is just as comfy as I remember.
Luis at work, bless his cottons, bought me the Adidas Teamgeist football (the £70 they use at the World Cup) and it’s changed the way I play football forever. Ok, well it hasn’t really, but it’s a jolly nice ball and he’s a jolly nice chap for getting it for me. I repaid him by not installing Bloomberg properly for one of our users and let him get an earful about it this morning. Good old Cohen.
A few weekends back I went and saw Tim (Charlie’s little bro) play football in his five-a-side world cup tournament. Although he didn’t qualify for the finals, the team played well and a fun day was had by all (on a ridiculously scorching hot day). Tim celebrated by buying a fruit and marshmallow kebab and flooding it with melted chocolate from the chocolate fountain – hence the picture.
I’m not sure if this was mentioned in a previous update but I also managed to crash my brother’s new bike he bought. It’s a pitbike or mini-scramble bike, if you will, and I managed to bend the gear shift leaver and semi-break the clutch. I did it in style though, sailing over a jump in the garden, laughing manically as I fell back to Earth, then filling my pants as I hurtled towards a large Cedar tree. Naturally, I braked hard with the front break and swerved to the left, causing me to fly over the handle bars and land head first in the dirt. My bro has since replaced the bike and repaired the existing one… so he now has two. He also, since then, has bought a quad bike, which I’ve yet to try out. (Not sure how keen he’ll be to let me though)
I, along with all of you I’m sure, watched England’s dismal exit from le Coupe du Monde. ‘Nuff said.
Last weekend, Jo and Chris came over and all four of us bounced on the trampoline, drove the bikes around, played some fusbal and ate some fried chicken in the garden. That’s what summers are all about. Chris and I invented the greatest game ever, which involves me riding down the garden on the mini-scrambler, and Chris lumping the new Adidas ball towards me, in the hope that I’ll be able to header it back to him. I caught one full off the forehead, and although extremely funny, it was nowhere near as accurate as I would have liked.
I think that’s pretty much it for news for now. Seeing Rob this weekend (it’s been a while) and it’s mother’s birthday tomorrow and Steve’s Birthday bash at work, so we’re off to the Thai Exchange in Putney for a meal. Should be fun.
Catch up again soon.. promise I won’t leave it as long next time.
Ciao!
